ALPS® PIP plates use ALPS® Technology, which combines various features designed to deliver fast healing after surgery:
Preserves Vascular Supply. All ALPS® plates are designed to minimize the contact area of a plate with the periosteum and to minimize vascular damage. This results in accelerated healing.
Anchor the way you want it. ALPS® PIP plates allow the use of monocortical and bicortical locking screws, as well as conventional screws in compression and angulation.
Contouring possible. The plates can be contoured in all planes and are made from titanium.
Reduced risk of infection. All components are manufactured from titanium alloy, a material noted for its biocompatibility.
The ALPS® PIP system was made available for clinical use following an in-vitro study performed by Aleksandar Vidovic that confirmed its viability and comparable strength to that of existing plate systems.
